Parents' Association
Wheelwright Lane’s Parents’ Association aim to help the school with all those bits and pieces that state funding just doesn’t cover.
Items purchased for the school include:
- PA system for the School Hall
- Contributions towards trips and visitors
- New school library space
- Books for classrooms and shared spaces
- Soft furnishing for our Reading For Pleasure Spaces
The Parents’ Association is a friendly, unpressured group, which works to enhance the school experience for our children and to organise social, fun and memorable events for everyone. Undoubtedly, the most infamous of these are the Christmas and Summer Fayre, our School Disco’s and the end of year event for our Year 6 leavers.
These would not take place without the funding, support and commitment of the PA, but our PA is about much more than simply fundraising. We provide closer links between home and school and bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It’s fun too – just ask any of the Committee members or volunteers.
Our Committee consists of Sam, Lizzie, Chloe, Amie and Jessica
. We are a very small PA and are looking for new Committee Members. We meet on a regular basis together with Mrs Perry when we are planning events.
The Committee hold open PA meetings, anyone can come along, find out what the association are planning, share ideas and get involved. Keep an eye on the weekly newsletter for the date of our next meeting, we’d love to welcome you.
We accept any and all help! Even just one hour of volunteering at an event, wrapping lucky dip prizes or folding raffle tickets (just a few examples) would be invaluable. If you would like to join us please speak to a committee member, come along to our next meeting or email us on wheelwrightlanepa@gmail.com

Some events organised by our PA include:
Autumn Community Circus Event – Our PA organised a fantastic autumn community event in 2024. We had a special visit from Happy’s Circus. The event was open to our local area and we had 600 visitors to our school site. The evening was a hive of activity with food vendors, popcorn stalls as well as an amazing performance from acrobats, dancers and performers from Happy’ s Circus. We raised a fantastic £1,565.40 towards our school Library project.
Christmas Experiences – Our PA do a fantastic job of giving our children a magical Christmas experience. We have Breakfast with Santa, a visit to the Grotto and Christmas fayres. We have some very busy Christmas elves!
