Parents’ Association
Wheelwright Lane’s Parents’ Association aim to help the school with all those bits and pieces that state funding just doesn’t cover.
Items purchased for the school include:
- Kitchen tables, chairs and equipment;
- PA system for the School Hall;
- Recorders for all children in Years 3 and 6;
- PE bags;
- Contributions towards school trips;
- Artwork in the Reception corridor;
- Making arrangements for Santa and his helpful elf to pop by at the Christmas fayre!
- Contributions towards year 6 leaver’s celebrations.
The Parents’ Association is a friendly, unpressured group, which works to enhance the school experience for our children and to organise social, fun and memorable events for everyone. Undoubtedly, the most infamous of these are the Christmas and Summer Fayre, our School Disco’s and the end of year event for our Year 6 leavers.
These would not take place without the funding, support and commitment of the PA, but our PA is about much more than simply fundraising. We provide closer links between home and school and bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school, working towards a common goal. It’s fun too – just ask any of the Committee members or volunteers.
Our Committee consists of Sam, Katie and Katie. We are a very small PA and are looking for new Committee Members. We meet on a regular basis together with Mrs Perry when we are planning events.
The Committee hold open PA meetings, anyone can come along, find out what the association are planning, share ideas and get involved. Keep an eye on the weekly newsletter for the date of our next meeting, we’d love to welcome you.
We accept any and all help! Even just one hour of volunteering at an event, wrapping lucky dip prizes or folding raffle tickets (just a few examples) would be invaluable. If you would like to join us please speak to a committee member, come along to our next meeting or email us on wheelwrightlanepa@gmail.com
