Event - Year 5 at Coombe Abbey Country Park

16 September 2014

On Tuesday 16th September Year 5 went to Coombe Abbey Country Park to study the River Smite which runs through the park.

We did a series of tests including measuring the length, the depth of the river and the speed of the current. We also went pond dipping and found many different creatures that lived in the pond such as a water boatman, red beetles, pond worms and a pond snail.

This trip was part of our topic on rivers this term. We were inspired to learn more and we hope to go again.
